A few weeks before I received a call from one person around 11.45 pm telling that his life is getting ruined due to suspicious nature of her wife. Inspite of my humble request to hold his impulses he was talking to me in a very loud noise without considering the odd time of his call. After listening to him I comforted him to continue his session next day. It is a common observation in my clinic that people become victims of impulse control disorder when they are not using their ability of keeping patience when they feel worried for any reason. Infact, worry is the advanced price people pay for the troubles that may never come. In critically persistent mental state of worry the person develops delusions, the symptoms of severe mental disorder either of paranoia or of paranoid schizophrenia, most probably.
There may be various reasons behind development of such abnormal condition but observations of faulty role models in early childhood serve the predisposing factors for such abnormal state of mind which gets precipitated during perceived stressors in future. Such stressors are perceived as threatening to security of the person which essentially raises worries in the person about his dreaded future.
Now the question is that whether we can't save us from being victims of such pathetic conditions? I strongly believe that the parents or significant family members must realize this crucial fact and try to develop skill of keeping patience without undue worries during critical situations in their children. This will serve two good purposes. Firstly, parents will be able to manage their impulses patiently and calmly and prevent them selves from sufferings. Secondly, they will be able to present a good role models in front of their children and thus will be able to inculcate the ability of keeping patience in trying situations. This will surely ascertain RESILIENT LIFE of the children in their future too.
So TRAIN YOUR MIND to remain in positive orientation of being patient full while facing adversities and freeing yourself from undue worries. I am sure this will help you to be a resilient person who does better under stress.
Enjoy days always ahead with resilient life style.
