CHOOSE PEACE OF MIND AND HAPPINESS




A few days before a man in his early middle adulthood came to my clinic with his wife for the second session. The man had delusion of persecution. Since childhood he felt that his father had always favoured his younger brother and had never given him any opportunity to survive a prestigious social life rather always restricted him from any social exposure . Now he has severe conflicts with his parents and younger brother who is quite successful in his business. Inspite of my continuous persuasion for cognitive reframing in the positive direction he adhered to the self- perceived delusinal mind state of past as the victim of intentional planning of his family members against him. Recently he included his wife and elder son also in the frame of his persecutory delusion. He even could not follow the therapies advised to him forcing me to refer the case to a psychiatrist as he had suicidal ideations too. On every positive statement for his life was bluntly refused by him . However ,at the end of the second session he promised me that he would try in the desired direction.

It is the story of not only this patient ,we observe many many persons who very unfortunately choose to be unhappy and in such disturbed mind state. The only prescription I had advised him was to chant ," I love myself a lot" as many times as possible.

The Psychological principle behind this positive affirmation is that the person who loves himself always puts himself at priority without relying on anybody. He always chooses peace of mind and presumes his responsibility for his own life and his own happiness. Infact with such positivity in one's life a person spontaneously attracts peace of mind and happiness. In my opinion these two virtues are the ultimate aims of human life and the most effective spiritual practice.


So,TRAIN YOUR MIND to remain in positive orientation of choosing peace of mind and happiness. I am sure you will make yourself a true magnet for peace of mind and happiness throughout your life.
