Yesterday a mother visited my clinic with her son of 12 years and studying in 7th class. She told me about her son's difficult behaviours at length. When I started my session with the child in face to face condition with a sentence ," How much you agree with your mom's complaints about you ?" the child burst into tears. After establishing rapport with the child he explained me reasons of his stubborn, non responsive to requests , abusive behaviours and reluctance to study in school, tuition and at home .Once a brilliant student suddenly became a poor performer with lots of behaviour problems just 8 years before when his sister was born . Off course, sibling rivalry was the main cause which is still continuing due to failure of parents in dealing with it in appropriate manner . The overburdened mother and over busy businessman father were not finding the way out . The widow grandmother was very much criticizing to the child who was forced to sleep with her was creating chaos for both of them and for whole the family too. Thanks to the God, after long sessions with both individually I was successful in pursuing the child to maintain disciplined behaviours in all domains of his life and the mother to understand their errors in dealing with the child to celebrate good family environment. I pray for every good and prosperous career of IT professional in future as the child told me about.
Here I want to emphasize that parenting is a true blessings for any child through out one's life but it must be perceived too by the child.
So, TRAIN YOUR MIND to remain in positive orientation of believing the importance of parenting.
